While having a teenager expelled from school can initially feel like life has flown off the tracks, eventually you will be able to look back and see God’s guiding hand shaping the situation for you and your child’s hope and restoration. Just like when God brought Israel back from exile, His promises remain: “Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy.” (Isaiah 61:7)

This article is part 2 of a series concerning being expelled from school. Check out article 1: Expelled from School - Riding the Roller Coaster.

According to a 2006 study by the National Center for Education Statistics, over 100,000 public elementary and secondary school students are expelled each year. Remembering this can help you maintain perspective. And while you are realizing you are not alone, send up a prayer for those families, too.

Five Ways to Read the Bible In a Year

Blog---five-ways-to-read-Bible

Reading the entire Bible may seem like a daunting task for some. Others may simply want to skip over sections of the Bible they feel don’t apply to them. Any time spent in God’s word is not a waste of time, even in passages of Leviticus or long genealogies that we don’t think apply to us. I know that whichever reading plan you choose, God will work through His Word to be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path (Psalm 119:105).
