Language Arts

Topics explored:

AOP Horizons introduces your child to the wonder of reading and writing through fun and engaging activities. Pre-reading and pre-writing skills are taught within a framework of stories from the Bible.

  • Identify letters A through Z.
  • Recogize that letters represent sounds and form words.
  • Gain pre-reading skills like matching, sorting, and determining relationships.
  • Letter formation.
  • Writing your name, address, and phone number.
  • Verbal skills and story comprehension.
  • Following directions.
  • Recognizing colors and color words.
  • Opposites.

Math

Topics explored:

Your student will learn the important building blocks of math and gain confidence in reasoning ability with AOP Horizons.

  • Counting 1-10
  • Recognizing numerals 1-10
  • Number sequence
  • Identifying shapes

Physical Education

Topics explored:

Ignite a lifelong love for movement with Horizons Physical Education. Students of all ages will jump for joy at this motivational, activity-packed curriculum. Think engaging games, age-appropriate challenges, and a healthy dose of fun, all while building essential skills like motor coordination, anatomy knowledge, and smart exercise habits. 

  • Develop sensorimotor body and manipulative object control skills.
  • Teach movement and fitness understanding.
  • Promote core values: honor God, give your best effort, share, care, and play fair.
  • Rehearse sensorimotor body control skills 
  • Explore creative movement skills. 
  • Build fitness awareness: muscles, heart, and lungs.
