O Captor, O Captor

O Prisoner, O Prisoner, come my friend.
I have a treat for you my friend.
Please, take one bite.
Please, take one sight.

O Captor, O Captor, why do you tempt me so?
I am not your friend, this I know.
So please, leave me in peace,
and this temptation, make it cease.
I wish not to bite your poison apple.
I wish not for sin to grapple.
Shooting at the strings of my heart,
your sin is like a poison dart.
I wish to set my eyes on the One above,
for He is the One I am the servant of.
For your tricky treats, my heart must not lust.
In the kingdom of God, I put my trust.
If every night behind bars I spend,
why do you say I am your friend?
Verily, I live up to my name,
dealing with this pain and shame.
I may be Job, the afflicted one,
but the battle for my heart is already won.
For when, old captor, I shrivel and die,
behind these bars I will no longer lie.
To heaven I will rise,
and on the seat of glory claim my prize.
Eternal life with the One;
Father, Spirit and the atoning Son.

O Prisoner, O Prisoner, my dear friend,
take of this gift to you I send.
From it you will find,
an experience filled with joy inside.
Join me on a great journey
of joy, fortune and great fame.
Upon your head, will lie no shame,
as the world will know your name.
You will rule the earth by my side;
at your feet will bow the tide.

O Captor, O Captor, I see your lies.
You wish to keep me wrapped in sin.
Thereof you wish to keep me deep in.
You wish for me to be in pain.
Your present brings me no gain.
I will be captive till the day I die.
Then I will rise above the sky.
There I will know peace.
There my suffering will cease.
As for you my Captor,
it will be your final chapter.
For the good God will bring your end:
Death and destruction, he will send.
Your iron bars He has already broken.
His plan of redemption He has spoken,
to save me from your wicked hands.
To raise me from your wretched lands.
For you will go down below,
but I will rise, this I know.

O Captor, O Captor, a message I send,
this is your bitter end.
To me, exaltation you cannot bring,
but God will lift me to just that thing.
For you, the same I cannot say.
Your fate will be different on Judgement Day.
Your world he will turn upside down.
He will destroy your fabled crown.
Your world will be torn within.
Your spirit never to live again.
My fate is sealed with God above;
I will rise like the white dove.
