It Only Takes One Word

It only takes one word, when things are getting tough,
to make you feel insignificant or like you’re not good enough.
It only takes one word
to brighten someone’s day.
But in a different tone of voice,
the feeling’s gone away.
It only takes one word to make someone feel amazing.
But amazing only last so long before it too starts fading.

We express with just one word
that someone is intelligent.
But why is it that in this world,
that’s the only thing that’s relevant?
You see, we tend to forget our need to be creative.
When we think about our future, we need to be innovative!
This world has turned black and white when it used to be colourful.
We’ve forgotten how to be independent and make our lives beautiful.

Now you may think I’m crazy, or maybe just outrageous,
when I tell you that to make a change, you don’t have to be courageous.
With just one word, you can make a difference, but you need to be strong.
You should know and remember that this world will sometimes think you’re wrong.
But hey, their opinions of your ideas and goals don’t matter.
They can think what they want and end up in a disaster.
Because here’s the thing, you have and are the solution, just make your voice heard.
And one last thing, it only takes one word.
