All I Am Thankful For

It’s true I’ve gone through turmoil;

it’s true I’ve been through pain.

Happiness depleted,

but I’ll never be the same.

I have everything I need now:

family, a dog, and a friend.

I have things to be thankful for

all the way until the end.

No matter how much I’m hurting,

I have God right by my side.

He carries me through hardships,

and he’s there for me to confide.

I have a job and am moving fast.

I have people looking after me.

I’m on my way to success

and get along with everybody.

So, I have a lot to be thankful for:

my road to college education,

my future endeavors, and

my wonderful nation.
