The Game of Failure

Baseball is life, the game of failure,

when you’re down it’s hard to keep the faith unless you’re the Savior.

When you’re up, you’re on top of the world,

you feel like a king with all of the riches and pearls.

Baseball is life, it’s how you respond,

some are able to keep their head up and move on.

Others find it difficult and just want to quit,

they start to dig themselves a bottomless (adjective) pit.

Baseball is life, there’s a chance for redemption,

some get over their failures and come through as a champion.

Others miss out on the chance God has presented,

and they end up in a deeper hole, feeling resented.

How do you succeed in a game full of failure?

It’s simple, you keep on working and keep a good behavior.

But it’s not as simple as some say,

that is why baseball and life are such a hard game to play.
