Online Student Computer Software Requirements
In order for your student to use Ignitia, our online curriculum platform, you will need to have a computer with current software installed. The good news is that this is relatively simple, even for those who are not technically savvy. The great news is that our team has listed the requirements below to make this an easy process.
Computer
If you need to purchase a computer or want to ensure that your current computer will work with Ignitia, the online curriculum used by students in grades 3–12, then read our article

While students can use multiple devices to access Ignitia, it is recommended that students use a laptop or desktop computer if available to them.
Operating System
Operating systems that work with Ignitia:
- Windows
- Macintosh
- Ubuntu
The most recent versions of each operating system should work with Ignitia
Browser
There are many internet browsers, but not all are made equal (or updated regularly). You can read, “Which Browser Work Best for Online Schooling?” for gritty details, but the summary of the article is that it is best to use Chrome or Firefox when logging into Ignitia.
Adobe
On occasion, the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC may be needed. The paid version is not needed. Again, you may unclick “Optional offers” and any options such as installing an extension. Please review the terms and conditions.
Javascript
Javascript should be downloaded and enabled. If not, courses may not render correctly. Please review Java’s webpage to learn more about Java. To check to see if Javascript is enabled, and for directions on how to enable it if it is not, read this article.
